Hiaaa. Happy Thursday! So last week I said I was going to start posting every Thursday about a topic from a book I have. And I also asked my readers to help come up with a name for them. So thank you for that, helping your girl out. She is very thankful. I decided to go with "deeper thinking" simply because I feel like most of them require a little more thinking than most of my posts. Ready for this weeks?!

"Does your name have a meaning? If so, what is it? If not, make up your own meaning for it."
Natalie.. nope. Marie? Nah, my parents just liked it I guess.. Owens, well no. Okay, so yeah I'm not named after anything and my name has no meaning what so ever. However, I have had a lot of nicknames in my life. Some which have meaning so I will just explain those.
One of my first nicknames was "sissy" I am the oldest so how? Well my family always called my Auntie Donna "sis" and since I was the first girl on my dads side besides my aunt I got the name passed down.
Bluegill Buddy. I honestly don't think I was ever told how this started but I think it's kinda funny. I always remember fishing with my dad when I was little. I was the biggest tomboy a little girl could be. No shame. I am assuming that when I would fish I always caught bluegills. The local part store in town was like an everyday stop when I was young. I think my dad just liked going in there with me because he liked to show me off, obviously! Anyways, the workers in there always called me Bluegill Buddy as soon as they seen me. One time my grandparents bought me this giant bluegill pillow, I thought t was the coolest thing. To this day, if I see the workers from the parts store they still call me bluegill, I don't even think they know my real name.
Nat, Nat Nat.. things like that are just obvi. I actually went through this little phase where NOBODY called me either one of those and I honestly have no idea why. It wasn't until I transferred high schools my sophomore year that people started to call me nat or nat nat again. I really like nat, I think it's fun and simple. Nat Nat, still makes me feel like I am a little kid playing cops and robbers so I'll take it.
Maria. My middle name is Marie, not Maria. For whatever reason I think my dad forgets that. He has always called me Maria, I remember it making my mom so mad because that wasn't my name. I would always yell at my dad and say "MY NAME IS NOT MARIA DAD!" I just think it's funny now.
Speaking of names I get called that aren't my name, Gracie is another. My mamaw has always loved the name Gracie. I was her first grandchild so she wanted nothing more than my parents to name me that. But ya know, they were young and rebellious so that didn't happen. My mamaw will occasionally call me Gracie now. Ella, Tatum, Addee.. names of my other family members.. there are too many girls in my family and none of us can call each other by the right name. So if that happens we usually just let it slide because it's funny. This one time my aunt called me Ella and I was just tired of her not remembering my name so I yelled "MY NAME IS ELLA NOT NATALIE" she made me have a name complex.. oh well, it always makes for a good laugh when my family is together.
And my all time fav. I was in 4th grade and came with this one of a kind nickname. I just knew it would stick, but turns out I was just really lame because it was so dumb. "G-nat" get it? yeah, no.. I don't think anyone ever understood. Like the bug, gnat, but instead g-nat. It was cool. That was when the DS thing was really big and so was writing on every single thing you owned.. So you best bet 4th grade g-nat wrote her nickname she gave herself on everything. Turns out nobody ever called me that expect for myself, still kinda makes me sad. Even my mom didn't support my decision. Sad face.
So no, I have no meaning to my actual name. Just some random nicknames with even more random meaning.
