So sometimes I go through these stages where I’m like “let’s try a new look and hope I don’t look like a total trash can” and to my surprising this one wasn’t one of those trash can moments. For a few weeks now I have thought when the so called “perfect” day would be to wear a little bit of denim. Or a lotta bit in my case. 

Quick little story. Okay, so a few years ago my mom was going away on a weekend trip for her job, doin’ hair. We both share this super cute denim jacket. She took it with her, we always wore it over dresses. She didn’t take the dress with her? Let me tell ya what a few years ago nat thought about the denim on denim look. Heck no. Not even a question. I seen a picture of mom wearing it and ABSOLUTELY hated it. It was a huge no go for me. But times change, people change, my sense of style has changed. I once use to live in basketball shorts and old sports tees. Thank goodness those days are over. Sorry mom, for telling you how horrible your look was that day lolz. 

Fast forward to November 2017. I’m walking across campus wearing what I once HATED and let me tell ya, I LOVED it. I was so comfy. It was going to be a little chilly but not cold enough to wear a coat. So I pulled out the staple denim button up I’ve had for years because I refuse to give it up. Found a basic shirt, in my case a new bodysuit. A darker pair of ripped jeans. And of course a cute pair of sneaks. I braided my hair really losely and messy, finished the look off for sure.

I just knew someone would say something like I did to my mom a few years ago but I guess the fashion world we live in today accepts the looks. I actually had the opposite outcome. A few people told me they loved my outfit. Score! And nobody gave me any dirty looks of “come on girl, what are you doing with your life”

I will for sure be wearing this look more often! And here comes an overload of pics in denim x denim. Be comfortable in what you wear, and wear it with confidence.
