3 ways I am going to stay organized this year

If anyone knows me, you know I am not the most organized person. But that is about to change real fast! I have set my mind to becoming more organized with my daily life. Working in a salon I have to be on a pretty good schedule with scheduling clients and managing my time well. And with everything else I have gotten myself into, organization is going to be the key to me not having a serious ice cream eating binge breakdown.

Staying organized in the salon

This one is pretty self explanatory. But I have a bad habit of not really keeping track of what I do to my client and taking notes on the end result. I want to try to start doing this more, especially since the salon will be picking up more. Whoop, Whoop!

Daily Life

I am the queen of my mom telling me 5 times to take the trash out and still somehow forget to take the trash out. I literally forget everything important and remember all the useless stuff. I don't understand how this happens. So I am making a point to write down everything. And I mean literally everything. Like even if it is "don't forget to wash my hair today" I am writing it down. I have found it helps me if I use bright and colorful pens and I have this super cute tiffany blue notebook I use to write all my notes in. When I finish something on my to do list, I color in a box or scratch it off, and when I don't finish it, I move it to the next day and make it a priority to finish.

Money

This is a big one for me. In the past year I have had a lot of changes and life just keeps on changing. I have chosen a career where a set paycheck is out of the picture. So making a budget seems kind of hard. So instead of budgeting and only allowing myself to spend $5 on coffee each week (that scares the living crap out of me) I plan on to keep track of a goal. Tracking how much I have to spend on bills/gas/food and how much extra I want to save. If I can see how much I am spending and how much I want to save I will do way better than setting a budget on each expense.

And you ask how I am going to do this all? Well, my appointment book will hold all of my clients for the salon, as well as when I have to work at The Grub. My note book is where I go into details about all the things I need to do, and where I put all my thoughts at. I also carry around this super cute daily planner. I use this to outline everything. It is arranged by days, has an hourly section for each day, and a section for notes. For each day I write my daily work schedule, an outline of the important tasks I have set, and how much money I spent or made that day.

I am no expert in being organized by any means, but I have some goals set to help me stay on the right track. So far I really think writing everything down has helped me, I am a huge visual person so I think seeing my progress is really going to help. But trust me, I am down for advice, tips, what you use, or any recommendations you might have!

I want to know how you plan staying organized in 2018, or if you still are going to be a go with the flow kinda person.. no shame.
