I am super excited about this post! I have never blogged about mine and Brandon's relationship, and as you can tell now that is what I will be doing. I really don't know how well the bf will like this post, because he thinks blogging is really weird. Oh well.
So yes, on Tuesday was mine and Brandon's two year anniversary!
Let me back up to the time we met.
The Grub
I was a junior in high school, working at the local restaurant that every highschooler works at. This older guy that I did not know started coming in to eat. I thought he was cute. I was super awkward around guys I thought was cute, so I handed him his water, made no eye contact, and walked away. And then his food came up, Blackend Chicken Alfrado. Once again I just sat the food down and pretty much ran away.
Turns out, Brandon was one of the people that worked at The Grub when he was high school. Who woulda guessed. All my charm really got him hooked apparently. He decided to ask the owners if he could work some weekends here and there. He wanted to work when I worked so he could talk to me. How sweet is that?!
About a week later, one of my co-workers informed me that she knew someone that liked me and wanted to get to know me.. all the good stuff. I played it off, didn't ask who it was, acted like I didn't care. Secretly I needed to know! Couple days later I asked about this mysterious guy and she told me.
It was the cute blackened chicken alfredo guy, Brandon!
The cooks had to be there before I did, so when I walked in one weekend there he was. Standing there with his back towards me, his hat was backwards, wearing a white apron, flipping some burgers. We made eye contact and from that moment on I knew he was going to be the one. I just wouldn't admit it.
I ended up asking the girls who the "new cook" was, put two and two together. Cute blackened chicken alfredo guy is the cook who likes me! I got his number from my co-worker and text him hours later after we got off.
I was playing hard to get.
Our First Date
We finally had made plans to hang out, but for whatever reason I refused to call it a "date" I think I knew that he was going to be the one so I was putting a wall up to try avoiding the whole "catching feelings" thing.
We decided on a movie after I got out of softball practice. I no joke wore a half zip, running shorts, tennis shoes, had my hair up in a sweaty pony, and was dirty from practice. I DID NOT CHANGE OR CARE WHAT I LOOKED LIKE!! I guess the first impression was done and over with at The Grub.
The movie was okay, actually I hated it so bad. It was on of those dumb comedy's that I can't stand.
On the way home I decided that I didn't know how to talk. I guess I was still trying to play hard to get.
Once we got back to my car, Brandon hugged me and we parted ways.
And Now
I guess he pulled me in pretty good because 2 years and 2 days later I am still here.
Although, it hasn't been all rainbows and butterflies this whole time. We have had our fair share of fights, arguments, and time apart. But he is my person (most of the time anyways). We now live together and that brings a whole new meaning to the term "relationship". Trying to figure out how to cook food and not have leftovers for weeks.. Seeing each other 24/7, and watching movies every night together.
Enjoy some of my favorite pictures of us over the past 2 years.
